Liverpool now have what is probably a needed week off after the defeat to Arsenal, before heading to the North East to play Martin O’Neil’s Sunderland go into the match having started the season off with a goalless draw at home to Arsenal followed by an impressive 2-2 draw away to Swansea last weekend. The reason Sunderland have only played two games is that the match against Reading on the 25th had to be cancelled due to a waterlogged pitch in August no less. After relying on Arsenals Nicklas Bendtner to provide their firepower last season Black... Read more...

I was recently asked by a fellow Liverpool fan this question which I think is one that we would all like an answer to and that is where are the goals going to come from? What can I say when asked about our season so far except to point out that the last time Liverpool got off to a start like this the Beatles were just getting ready to release “Love me do” in October of 1962. OK so we have signed Agger, Skrtel, and Suarez to new contracts yet we failed miserably when it came to transfers, and I do not think we will ever know who is to blame for not signing the American midfielder Clint Dempsey from Fulham. Here was a player that was relishing playing for the Reds, who’s jersey sales in North... Read more...

Gerrard and Carragher have been arguably two of Liverpool Football Club's greatest ever players, certainly two of its greatest servants. But both are now in the autumn years of their career. Gerrard is the younger of the two at thirty-two, and would seem to have plenty of juice in the tank as of yet. He is still an important part of the England team, and was the only Englishman named in UEFA's official 'team of the tournament' for Euro 2012. It seems far too early to discard Gerrard given his unquestioned talent, and it seems quite likely that he could prolong... Read more...
